A tripawd at 2

Little Jazz…where to start!

Such character and personality at a young age.

Jazz was saved from being returned to her ‘breeder’ at 6 weeks. Too old for a pet shop and not ‘pretty’ enough to be sold early. I held her while her spot in the window was cleaned out and when I went to hand to her back I hesitated and said…’I think I might take her home, I want to buy her”. Since then, she changed my life.

We began our little adventure and then I met the love of my life, who soon become the love of Jazz’s life too…a mummy. Everywhere I went and my new wife, Jazz wanted to come too.

One night, when I was dating my now wife Jazz escaped from the yard to find me. She ran down the middle of the road and was hit by a car. I had a call from a pet rescue volunteer to advise she had safely found Jazz but her leg was badly damaged. I was devastated, as was my wife and we took her to the vet straight away to find out that her damaged rear leg had to be removed.

I couldn’t believe how fast she adapted and was walking within the first week as a tripawd!

And so her life as a special little 3 legged dog began…

  2. Hey Jazz and pack, welcome! I’m sorry about the car accident but as Jazz has shown you already Tripawds rock!
My current Tripawd Elly was hit by a car when she was 7 months old and lost her right rear leg, I adopted her at 10 months old. My first Tripawd was a pug named Maggie who lost her left rear leg to cancer. Elly is a little pug mix, here is her blog: http://rescueelly.tripawds.com/
Elly is now over 2 years old, almost 2.5 years old. She does everything a dog her size can do. We play lots of food games and have gone to lots of classes. We are doing Nose Work right now…it’s awesome!
I’m glad Jazz is healing well, can’t wait to follow her new journey!
